92% of Covid deaths in Cagayan de Oro City were unvaccinated

MAJORITY or 92 percent of Covid-19 mortalities recorded in Cagayan de Oro City as of August 25, 2021 were unvaccinated individuals.

Based on the data from the City Health Office, Cagayan de Oro logged a total of 697 Covid-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic and 92 percent of them, or 647 individuals, have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 while seven percent, or 50 individuals, have been vaccinated.

As of August 25, Cagayan de Oro has a total of 275,656 vaccinated individuals, of which 189,732 received their first dose of the vaccine and 85,924 were fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the city continues to increase with its total now at 3,266 cases.

Of the number, 872 were admitted at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) and other hospitals in the city, and 2,394 were outpatients.

The top barangay with the most number of active cases in Cagayan de Oro is still Barangay Carmen which has 381 cases. This is followed by barangays Balulang with 269 cases, Kauswagan with 247 cases, Bulua with 207 cases, Lumbia with 206 cases, Iponan with 182 cases, Bugo with 152 cases, Macasandig with 142 cases, Patag with 137 cases, and Gusa with 121 cases.
